Filters & sorting

Use multiple filters together to narrow a view step by step. Each filter you add further reduces the list without erasing the previous ones.

Learn the basics of views

How to add filters

  1. Open a column menu from the table header.
  2. Choose Filter.
  3. Enter a value and press Enter or select Apply.

You can repeat this on other columns to stack filters across the view.

Pattern tips

  • *text* finds values that contain the text.
  • prefix* finds values that start with the prefix.
  • *.ext finds values that end with the extension.
  • ? matches a single character.

Remove filters

  • Use Clear filter in the same column menu to remove that column’s filter.
  • Use Clear all filters from the views dropdown when you want to reset everything at once.

Sorting is set from a column header menu. When you sort a column, the view uses only that column as the active sort.

Sort a column

  1. Open a column menu from the header.
  2. Choose Sort ascending or Sort descending.

If another column was already sorted, it is replaced by the new choice.

Sort order decides the direction of the list:

  • Ascending moves from A → Z, 0 → 9, or oldest → newest.
  • Descending moves from Z → A, 9 → 0, or newest → oldest.

Clear sorting

Open the same column menu and select Clear sorting to remove the order.

Saved views keep your current filters and sorting so you can return to them later. They are tied to the view you are working in.

Save a view

  1. Apply at least one filter or sort.
  2. Select Save current filters (or Update view if one is already active).
  3. Name the view and confirm.

Open or update a saved view

  • Use the views dropdown to select a saved view.
  • If you change the filters, you can update the same view or save a new one with a different name.

Reset a view

  • Use Clear all filters to remove filters and sorting in one action.
