Find and filter documents

Use the Documents page to find a file or folder by name, then refine the list with filters, sorting, and page controls.

  1. Open a workspace and select Documents.
  2. In Search by name, enter at least two characters from a document filename or folder name.
  3. Review the matching documents and folders. The result count updates above the table.

Name search covers the whole workspace, even when you start from inside a folder. It searches filenames and folder names, not the text inside documents.

Search results include a Location column. Select a location to clear the name search and open the containing folder. To return to the folder you were browsing without opening a result location, select Clear search.

Column filters remain active when you clear a name search or open a containing folder.

Select a column heading to open its filter and sort menu. Available filters depend on the column:

  • Name accepts text from a filename.
  • File Type and Type let you choose document categories or file extensions.
  • Updated At and Issue Date accept date conditions.
  • Tags lets you select existing workspace tags.
  • Size accepts a numeric condition.

You can combine filters from several columns and use them with name search. To remove a filter, reopen that column heading and clear its filter.

The same menu sorts the selected column in ascending or descending order. Only one column sort is applied at a time. Clear the sort from the column menu to return to the default order.

Use the controls below the table to:

  • move to the previous or next page;
  • review the displayed row range and total result count;
  • select the row range to change how many results appear per page.

Changing a filter, sort, or page size returns the list to its first page.

Documents-list search is for locating files and folders. To find words, clauses, or ideas inside document content, use Contradic search instead.
